For this reason, our instructors are chosen based on their qualifications, communication skills, patience, and love for children. Our structured training program ensures that each student receives the finest hands-on instruction available. His favorite part about teaching his students is being able to see how much they have improved over time. Garith is currently attending Southern Vermont College where he is studying Biology. A fun fact about Garith is he loves working out and playing basketball.

Ilianna is currently studying Business and Economics at California State University, Los Angeles. A fun fact about Ilianna is that she loves to paint!

Marlene is currently studying Kinesiology at Cal State University, Los Angeles. She first learned to swim at age 7 and she began competing on her high school swim team as a Sophomore. Her favorite strokes are the butterfly and the breaststroke. Marlene gained experience working with children of all ages as a babysitter. She enjoys caring for her nephew and her niece, who has autism. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing her students excitement when they learn a new skill. In her spare time Marlene loves to write, paint, hike, and run at the beach.

She is studying Early Childhood Education at Mt. San Antonio College. A fun fact about Megan is that she loves to draw!

She is currently studying Kinesiology at East Los Angeles College. When Tiffanie is not in the water, she loves going to Disneyland!

One of her favorite parts about teaching her students is being able to work with the children and being able to work in the water. Some of Ashley’s hobbies include reading and going on hikes.

In high school he swam competitively and was also the captain of the Water Polo team. His favorite stroke is Backstroke and his favorite events include 100 meter Backstroke, 100 meter Breaststroke and 50 meter Freestyle. He gained most of his experience working with children ages four through ten while babysitting his 3 younger brothers and helping young swimmers through the Little Buddy Program. He is currently attending Evergreen Valley College where he is studying Civil Engineering. His favorite part about teaching is helping competitive swimmers improve their strokes and lap times. A fun fact about Benjamin is he enjoys skiing, wakeboarding and skating.

Angel enjoys building connections with his students and helping them grow and develop their skills in the water! Angel currently attends Orange Coast College to major in Communications. Some of his hobbies include playing basketball, reading, and writing. A fun fact about Angel is: he was named Captain of both his track and cross country teams in high school.

Betsy is currently attending Santiago Canyon College where she is studying Child Development. A fun fact about her is she really enjoys listening to music and singing.

One of her favorite strokes is Butterfly and her favorite event is the 100 meter Butterfly. Day has been working with children of all ages through coaching an all girls lacrosse team. She also volunteered as a camp counselor for three summers in a row. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is being able to build a personal relationship with each of her students and watch them grow and develop into great swimmers. Some of Day’s hobbies include golf, working out, playing video games, and hanging out with her friends.

She is studying Criminal Justice at Cal State Fullerton College. A fun fact about Mayra is that she loves skating and going to museums!

Naraly is currently studying Psychology at Santa Ana College. A fun fact about Naraly is that she touched a baby gray whale while whale watching!

He swam all throughout high school and following graduation he swam for the U.S. Army. Paul comes to us with prior swim instructor experience and loves watching his students’ progress and achieve their goals. Paul is currently studying Biochemistry at Iowa College. A fun fact about Paul is that he has been to six of the seven continents!

Vanessa began swimming at the age of fifteen when she began swimming competitively for Western High School and competed all four years of high school. Her favorite stroke is Backstroke and her favorite event is the 200 yard relay. She has gained most of her experience working with elementary students while helping assist at her local elementary. She would help set up lesson plans and execute the lessons and help and students with any questions they might have. Her favorite part of teaching her students is being able to see their improvement through time. Some of Vanessa’s hobbies include hiking, swimming and bike riding.

Cameron currently studies Physical Therapy and Kinesiology at Mt. San Antonio College. While in high school, he participated on the swim team for 3 years, and his favorite events were the 200-meter and 500-meter freestyle. Cameron gained childcare experience while working as an instructional aid and has earned the position of lead trainer at Waterworks Aquatics through his hard work and dedication since starting at our Sierra Madre location. He enjoys teaching swimming lessons because he likes to see the enjoyment on his students’ faces when learning how to swim.

Linda attends CSULA to study Exercise Science. She learned how to swim at the age of seven and fell in love with the sport after joining the swim team her freshman year of high school. She swam competitively all four years of high school and her favorite event was the 200 IM. Linda grew up in a large family and has extensive experience babysitting for her relatives. She also has volunteered at child development centers where she created fun workshops and art activities for her students, who ranged in age from 4-7 years old. Linda’s enjoys being a swim instructor because she loves helping her students learn new skills and seeing the excitement on their faces when they have achieved their goals!

Sergio spent his free time as leader of a youth bible study group, organizing educational activities and leading discussions. He is passionate about teaching swim lessons because of the knowledge that he is teaching his students an invaluable new life skill. Sergio is currently majoring in Communications and Music at Citrus College.

She is currently attending Santa Monica College where she is studying Biology. During her free time, she enjoys reading, playing piano and guitar, and taking morning jogs.

His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students swim across the pool for the first time. A few of Lucky’s hobbies include reading, cycling, and swimming.

She has received multiple first and second place ribbons as well as the most improved trophy in her age division. Her favorite stroke is Breaststroke and her favorite event is the Individual Medley relay. Anna has worked with children of all ages and gained most of her experience through babysitting as well as working as a camp counselor for three years. Her favorite thing about teaching swimming lessons is seeing the progress her students make as they come in for the lessons. During her spare time Anna loves hanging out with her friends, going to the movies, going out to eat and dancing.

Nhat is excited to teach his students and help them feel comfortable and safe in the water! He currently attends Chabot College to study Psychology. Nhat loves music and enjoys playing the piano and singing.

He has gained most of his experience working with children ages two through thirteen through raising his nieces and nephews and working for Vieques Hidden Trails where he taught kids how to safely use snorkeling gear, use effective propulsion techniques and kayaking. His favorite part about teaching is being able to teach his students something new every time. He loves the feeling he gets each time he learns something new and he wants to be able to share that with his students. Stephen is currently attending Aviation Institute of Maintenance and is studying to be an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. Some of his hobbies include dancing, playing his guitar, and singing.

Ashley has worked with children of all ages and gained most of her experience through volunteering at her local elementary school and babysitting. Her favorite part about teaching is being able to see the smile on her students’ faces each time they learn something new. Ashley is currently attending Marymount California University where she is studying Criminal justice. Bianca has worked with children of all ages, prior to working with us here at Waterworks she worked as a swim instructor at her local YMCA. Bianca is currently attending Rio Hondo College an studying Architecture. During her free time she really enjoys going to the beach and practicing swimming against the current, reading and cooking.

He previously worked at Legoland and currently is an Assistant Scoutmaster. In his free time, Michael enjoys reading comic books and watching a variety of sports. He is currently attending Mira Costa College with a focus on History.

Jacqueline began taking swimming lessons when she was a few months old and loved swimming ever since. She started competing at 7 years old with Courtside Swim Club. When her family moved to Los Angeles, she swam for Bruin Swim Club and moved onto Royal Swim Club and then moved to Alpha Aquatics. Her swimming didn’t just end there, she also swam competitively all throughout high school. Her favorite strokes are the Breaststroke and Freestyle and her best events are the 200 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle. Jacqueline has gained her experience with kids by being the family babysitter for her older sibling’s children. She is currently attending De Anza College studying Psychology. Some of her hobbies include playing video games, spending time with her friends, and exploring new places.

Leo gained experience working with children as a camp counselor and while in high school, where he would volunteer to run games and activities for children to enjoy in an organized and fun environment. Leo is also active in the water as he spends much of his time in the ocean and enjoys swimming laps for exercise. His favorite stroke is the backstroke. Leo loves to make his students laugh and have a great time. His favorite aspect of teaching swimming lessons is seeing the excitement on his students faces when they reach a goal. He currently studies Kinesiology at San Jose City College. Leo’s favorite movie is Finding Nemo and in his free time he loves to read and play fantasy football!

Saj learned how to swim when he was six years old. He caught on very quickly and continued swimming in high school. He competed in triathlons, and half-marathons as a swimmer and runner. He won first place in the Morro Bay Triathlon Relay and Gold Finisher in the Berkley Half-Marathon. Saj has experience working with children as a swim instructor and a mathematics tutor. He enjoys building connections with his students and helping them grow and develop their skills in the water! Saj is studying Business Administration at Foothill College. Some of his hobbies include playing basketball, swimming, and soccer.

She was co-captain her junior year and was moved up to captain her senior year. Her favorite stroke is Freestyle and her favorite event is 100 yard Freestyle. Ashley has worked with children of all ages and gained most of her experience through volunteering at her local elementary school and babysitting. Her favorite part about teaching is being able to see the smile on her students’ faces each time they learn something new. Ashley is currently attending Marymount California University where she is studying Criminal justice. A fun fact about Ashley is she really enjoys the outdoors and exploring new places and she loves photography.

Her favorite stroke is Butterfly and some of her favorite events include 100 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and the 400 Relay. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is watching as her students continue to improve and reach their swimming goals. Bianca has worked with children of all ages, prior to working with us here at Waterworks she worked as a swim instructor at her local YMCA. Bianca is currently attending Rio Hondo College an studying Architecture. During her free time she really enjoys going to the beach and practicing swimming against the current, reading and cooking.

Her favorite stroke would have to be Freestyle, in which she was awarded many medals and awards. Joana has worked with children ranging from five years old to nine year olds and gained most of her experience with children while babysitting. During her free time Joana really enjoys reading, drawing, singing and making origami.

His favorite thing about teaching is being able to provide the students with the knowledge and experience of swimming which will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Justin is currently attending Cerritos College where he is studying Lobotomy. Some of Justin’s hobbies include reading, playing chess and crossword puzzles. In his free time he plays for World Development Football League as a quarterback.

Her passion for swimming and the art of teaching lead her to assist her swimming coach during her high school years. She has worked with children of all ages through babysitting and later becoming a Nanny for a group of siblings. Her favorite part about teaching swimming lessons is watching her students retaining vital knowledge in the water, then seeing her students enjoying their own accomplishments. Lydia is currently attending El Camino College where she is working on getting her Bachelors in English. During her spare time she loves to swim, write poetry and short stories, travel, and hang out with her dogs.

Sabrina is currently studying Sports Psychology at Long Beach Community College. A fun fact about Sabrina is that she loves to paint!

She is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because she enjoys watching her students’ confidence grow as they improve in the water. Alex is currently studying Sign Language at Chaffey College. She specializes in Butterfly and Backstroke, and her favorite swim event is the 200 yard Individual Medley. Amber gained childcare experience through babysitting young children.

She started out babysitting and later on became a pre-k teacher’s assistant. Soon after, she became a swim instructor. Her favorite aspect of teaching knowing that she is helping her students learn a valuable skill they can use throughout their life. Annabelle is currently attending Mt. San Antonio College where she is studying Neuroscience. During her free time she enjoys hiking and being creative.

She is passionate about teaching swimming lessons because she enjoys the excitement on her students’ faces as they achieve their goals. Kaitlyn is currently studying Zoology at Mt. San Antonio College. A fun fact about Kaitlyn is that she loves cupcakes!
